WIndows 2003 server PDC and Windows Clients DNS
Posted by parpagiola@iname.com on June 20th, 2007

I'm Unix/Linux System Administrator.
I've got this problem:
we have just installed a Windows 2003 server, PDC.
Before we have a Windows NT 4.0 server, PDC.
Now the Windows clients can't access to the domain.
The clients domain name server is a Linux (Bind 9) server.
Our consultant has suggested to configure all Windows clients with a
second domain name server (with the IP address of the Windows 2003
server).
There is a way not to configure manually all the clients?

Thanks,

Windows 2000 clients can access the domain, Windows XP Professional
clients had to be re-configured.
Any suggestion?
Thanks,

Matteo

Are you using DHCP in your environment? DHCP can configure DNS settings
for you and register with DNS if required.
