- Windows 2003 Server slow respond time
- Posted by robmccartney@gmail.com on May 1st, 2007
Hello,
I have a small network. We currently just use workgroups as I have
been having issues in switching to a domain... but here is the problem
I am having.
When using just a shared drive on the server, opening and saving files
works with ease and no slow time. However when using an MS Access
Database, opening ProLaw(the data files and databases are all stored
on the server) the response time is horrible. Often the programs will
just stop responding and the workstation must terminate the
application and try again. Right now as a work around we are just
doing remote desktop to the server to get the databases to work
without lag time.
Can anyone suggest a way to speed the response time up?
