WMI - Connection Limit
Posted by JoshP on June 20th, 2007

I am attempting to monitor 7 services using WMI from a remote monitoring
station. The services monitored randomly report being down because the
monitoring station cannot make an RPC connection to the remote server when
running the WMI commands.

I was told that Microsoft has implemented a WMI connection limit. If true,
I think this limit is what is causing my WMI service checks to fail from my
remote monitoring station (which is also a Windows machine). Doea anyone
know of a WMI connection limit? If so, is there a workaround--a way to
increase the WMI connection limit (i.e. registry tweak, etc.).

Your help is greatly appreciated,
Josh

Windows XP Service Pack 2 - Do you think the 10 connection limit could be
causing the problem? I was thinking the 10 connection limit was inbound?
What's your thoughts?

Thanks,
Josh
