- Can't install DLL's
- Posted by N Thorell on March 31st, 2005
After having installed XP Pro SP2 and had it working for several weeks, I
then uninstalled IIS, but it seems impossible to -reinstall IIS. Even if I
point to each DLL (or .DL_ ) on the original installation disk, the
installation program says it "can't copy the dll". Very confusing.
Could it be a version problem? Are there still newer versions of the DLL on
the hard disk? I have also tried to decompress the huge downloaded SP2 .exe
file to be able to point out each requested DLL of the latest version, but
the installer refuses to accept any DLL.
I have several gigabtyes of free space on the hard disk.
Any hint?
(I uninstalled IIS because I suddenly, one day, got big problems accessing
my local webpages. I thought the only way out, was to reinstall IIS.)
