- Can't log in after install
- Posted by Alex on September 28th, 2003
After a clean install of Windows XP Professional the
first time i boot up it asks me for an administrator
password. How is this possible if no accounts have been
created yet. How is it possible to have an admin account
on a computer that was just reformated and a new OS
installed. What do I do?

During setup, you were asked to enter an administrator password, this was
for the administrator account automatically created the OS. If you did not
enter a password, try logging in by leaving the password field empty. If
you did enter a password, enter it. If you forgot the password. You will
have to reformat and reinstall again. Since this was a clean install, you
wont lose anything.
