chkdsk utility
Posted by Morag on February 19th, 2006

My temporary internet files are corrupt. The message says to chkdsk utility.
I don't know what this is or how to do it as I'm not very computer literate.
Please can someone tell me what to do very simply?

First thing to do is to open Control Panel - Network and Internet
Connections - Internet Options. In the Temporary Internet Files
section of the window click on the "Delete Files" button. In the
Delete Files window first click on the checkbox for "Delete all
offline content" to select it then click on OK. When the task is
complete (hourglass goes away) click on Apply and OK as needed to
exit.

Next open My Computer. Right-click on the icon for your hard drive
(C and select Properties. In the Properties window click on the
"Check Now..." button in the Error-checking (top) section.

Good luck
