desktop icons do not stay put

desktop icons do not stay put: Posted by jjw on March 1st, 2008; i have a machine with 2 monitors. i arrange my desktop icons on both
monitors. recently the desktop icons that were on the secondary monitor are
now on the primary monitor. i cannot drag a desktop icon to the secondary
monitor unless i uncheck align to grid (which was not required before). i
have another system setup similarly but do not have this problem. what
settings can i chage to restore the abiliy to put icons on the secondary
