- memory access violation

i start my computer and this error reading.... memory
access violation in module kernel32 at 2741:49836879
All of my programs say... windows can not access the
specified device, path or file.you may not have the
appropriate permissions to access the item. This started
after i downloaded windows updates..fri september 12th.
what can i do ?

Did you get an e-mail virus warning that appeared to be from Microsoft with
an attachment? Regardless, you might want to make sure your antivirus
software has the latest definitions and run a virus scan as this sounds as
though it might be the Swen Virus:

NOTE: While Microsoft does send out virus warnings or other notices of
updates, it never sends out files, fixes or attachments.
