Missing Slave Hard Drive After XP Re-install
Posted by Ray on February 22nd, 2007

Greetings,

I just completed a re-install of XP and find that Windows doesn't show my
200 Gb Seagate. Prior to the re-stall both the "C" and "D" drives were
present. The "D" or "slave" does show during the BIOS sequence and I ran a
Seagate utility that also shows it's there. This sucks because I transferred
all of my "stuff" to it before wiping the "C" drive. Does anyone know of a
way to get Windows to identify the drive?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks -- Ray

Sounds as though one of them wasnt disconnected during the reinstall of xp,
you must physically disconnect it during an installation. However, try typing
cmd
in run,in cmd typeiskPart In DiskPart type:list disk Type:list volume
See if it shows, type:HELP For all cmds You also, could type:diskmgmt.msc In
run..
