"My Computer"/ "Search Results"
Posted by bonurb on January 23rd, 2007

-- Recently I did some adjusting on my Desktop. I now have a problem - when
I go to My Computer and try to open one of my Drives, A, C, D, or E, my
Search Results window opens. It's blank.
I can get into my drives by clicking on My computer then right clicking
on any drive, ie C drive , then clicking Open on the drop down menu. The
contents of C drive then appear in a window as they did before (when I left
clicked on C drive after clicking My Computer. )
If I click on Explore in the drop down menu then my desk top opens.

When I right click on the Drive letter the drop down menu has Search
highlighted at the top, Open, is just below it.
How can I stop the Search Results window opening when all I want is to open
my C drive?
I'm using Windows XP Home.
I would appreciate any help with this problem. Would you please cc me
direct on any reply as I am not experienced in using this forum. Thank you

Go to the following website and look on Line 18, right column. Click the
"Search Opens When Double Clicking A Folder" link and download the file.
Double click the file to install the fix.
