How does one go about getting and using disc with home xp
files since my laptop only has the 4 Hewlett Packard
recovery discs which will basically also wipe out my hard
drive help please thanks

Yes, that's the "Catch22" of recovery disks. If you're in a mess, those
disks can put your system back in factory fresh condition but will wipe your
drive. The only alternative is to purchase a retail version though you
might be able to get the disk through HP.
