- netwrok problem
- Posted by hussein hariri on October 15th, 2006
Hello
I have a small network of 6 desktops connected together through a router
which provide them by IPs by the DHCP built in it, also the router provide
wireless connection to the laptops that we have.
the problem is that on of the desktops have a shared printer on which all
the computers in the group connected to it, but only two laptops when they do
restart the will lose connectivity to tat computer that have the printer and
will make it inaccessible and accessed denied. so on each restart I need to
make a new addition to the printer and put the user name and the password to
connect to the PC. Knowing that all the PC.s in the network have XP os and
they are not doing that.
is there any solution
Thank you

It sounds like you have XP Home which has a 5 connection limitation. Since
you have 6 notebooks, one is continually having trouble onnecting to the
printer. Upgrade the one with the printer to XP Pro which has a 10
connection limitation.
