No Lpt1 Printer port
Posted by cybercrypt13 on September 9th, 2005

I recently had a problem with my boot sector on my hard drive that caused me
to have to do a repair in Windows XP Pro SP2 from the CD. It fixed my
problem and got me going again, however, now I can not get my printer to
function. Everything is setup as before, except when I go to System Devices
I don't have an LPT1 port. I've tried reinstalling the motherboards drivers
and have completely removed and reinstalled the printer, but no matter what I
do I can't get the port to show up.

Can anyone tell me what might have happened and how to fix it?

Thanks,

Does it show up in the BIOS?

And you remembered to install the motherboard chipset drivers?
