When I receive e-mails with attachments I am unable to
open them, I get a promp asking if I want to open the
attachment I answer yes and then it tells me that the file
is in use and I am unable to open it. Do I have my e-mail
configured incorectly? Also I am unable to open any excel
or power point attachments why? Thank you

With regard to the attachments, open Outlook Express (assuming that is your
e-mail client) go to Tools, select options, go to the Security tab and be
sure there is not check next to "Do not allow attachments to be saved or
opened that could potentially be a virus."

I would assume if you are unable to open any attachments, that would include
PowerPoint and Excel. Beyond that, if you don't have PowerPoint or Excel or
at least their viewers installed on your system, they will not open. If you
don't have the applications the viewers can be downloaded from the following
site:
