Password protecting a folder
Posted by Christian Davidsson on August 27th, 2003

Hello everyone,

Is it possible to password protect a folder? The reason it 'needs' a
password is because several people use the same login, but not everyone
should be able to access this certain folder.

Any help would be much appriciated,
and thanks in advance!

Permissions work on a Group basis. Specific users from other groups can be

scenario, this avenue to protect a network resource won't work.

An alternative solution might be third party program that password protects
folders.

Hi Sharon and thank you for your reply.

This was what I was suspecting - a third party software needed to be used.
I'll look into what can be used.

Thanks again,
