PC will not shut off

I have Windows XP - Iinstalled a K-Byte 256 mb - 168 pin
SDRAM memory card - after putting everything back I plug
in computer - it does random beeps and then will not shut
off - the only wayto shut it off is tounplug it. HELP

1. Control Panel, then Power Options.
2. Click on the APM Tab, then check the "Enable Advanced Power Management
support."

Is the RAM the right type for the system? Is it the same type as any other
RAM you have onboard? Have you checked to see if BIOS is identifying the
RAM correctly? Checked on the beep code for your system board? (Beep codes
have specific meanings and help to inform you about what's going on.)
