I utilize Crap Cleaner periodically to clean-up my machine. Until today,
I've had zero issues with running Crap Cleaner. After today's (14 February)
Microsoft security update package, I am now being notified by Crap Cleaner of
some "problem issues". All three are listed below:
"HKCR\MailFileAtt" refers to invalid ActiveX/COM entry
"00020D05-0000-0000-C000-000000000046"
"HKCR\mapifvbx.object" refers to invalid ActiveX/COM entry
"41116C00-8B90-101B-96CD-00AA003B14FC"
"HKCR\mapifvbx.object.1" refers to invalid ActiveX/COM entry
"41116C00-8B90-101B-96CD-00AA003B14FC"
Crap Cleaner appears to clean them, but they return instantly. Does anyone
know the purpose of these entries? Why can't they be deleted? They appear
to be related to MS Office, but I can't be certain.
I read another related thread in here, but no one seemed to know what the
entries are and why they can't be removed. It seemed like they are just
something to deal with once you have them.
Any thoughts on their purpose? Which programs they are from? Why they
can't/shouldn't be removed?
I appreciate any and all responses.
