Problems with Task Manager and Regedit
Posted by SAP on February 11th, 2005

My son's computer was infected with the backdoor.sdbot virus yesterday. We
removed the virus and every is showing clean now, however we are not able to
access the task manager with control-alt-delete or by right clicking on the
bar. The task manager window appears for a second or two and then
disappears. The same happens when trying to run regedit. We can't figure
out what is going on or how to fix it. The information on backdoor.sdbot
didn't indicate that this was a problem that was associated with it. Anyone
know what could be going on?

Thanks!

Why does Task Manager, MSCONFIG, or REGEDIT disappear while opening?
