If you have separate install disks for the applications you can reinstall
the applications, that should get them running again. Since you didn't say
how your parents connect to the Internet, broadband (cable or DSL) or
dial-up it's difficult to help. If dialup, just delete the old connection
and create a new one. following the screens for setup.
