- Posted by Lemont on December 8th, 2003
I have a gateway computer due to a few issues they told I
needed to wipe the hard drive clean and I did. After
reinstalled mircosoft softwares the CD's that come
withthe computer doesnt have the prodcut Key on them and
its not on the CD's jacket etc . How can I get the proper
Product Key to access works and word for windows XP

Word for Windows is not a part of XP and never has been a part of any
Windows OS. If Gateway supplied Word with your system, then you can only
get the product key from them. If they can't issue a key, explain the
problem, remind them they supplied Word with your system and they need to
tell you how to get it functioning again, especially since they are the ones
who told you that you needed to wipe the drive in the first place.

In addition to what Michael said:
Look in your packet of documentation that came with your pc--I have never
known Gateway to fail to include the COAs for all installed products.
