I purchashed Windows XP Professional 5 years ago almost when it first was
released. I still have the original disk and number, but............. For
whatever reason it seems to be really slow! Click on
start/programs/"anything" and it just doesn't respond well. Games seems to be
slow, some "hang" it just overall gives me the .....well you know what :-)
I have loaded a pirated version XP 2006 Advanced Security Enhanced and it
just flies! totally different. just click on anything and it opens instantly.
Games and all programs never a problem. Like where has this system been????
it's great!
Now my question.....Can I transfer the resistration and key code from my
original to the pirated version? It's the same operating system, just a
little newer (a lot :-) Your help would be apreciated.
Kind Regards
Robert

Hi.
Well, that's a good question. I found via a Google search another one
with almost the same issue. You can read and see what it says.
http://groups.google.com/group/micro... 1b7c1c5bf61a
Here you have some more to read about the subject "Activation" as it
is called. Registration is not required, just activation.
How to change the product key at the time of activation
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810892/en-us
Frequently asked questions about Microsoft Product Activation

But don't you think it would be better trying to find out why the
original XP version is behaving as it is? What when this new one
becomes slow?
Hope it helps.
Kind regards,
Gunilla.
