- search will not find text in other than .txt files

In previous windows versions, the search facility
(ie from the start button on the task bar) would let
you find a string in a text file even if the text file did
not end in .txt (as far as I recall). Now however if I
have a text file ie mytext.sql and want to find a string,
it will not find the string. If I rename the file to
mytext.txt, it finds the string. Is this a bug?
