shut down/restart issue
Posted by Shyguy8413 on April 1st, 2006

For starters, I use the Microsoft XP Home Edition service pack 2. Not too
long ago I had a problem with the spyfalcon virus and finally got it out of
my computer. Since then, when I go through the shut down or restart process,
the computer asks for comfirmation (as usual), and goes to the shut down
screen with the Windows logo saying 'saving your settings'. After 'saving
your settings' changes to 'windows is now shutting down' (or something to
that effect), it stays that way and I must hold the power button down to shut
off the computer. I can't restart it either, because once it 'saves my
settings', it stays on the shutting down. I've left it alone for hours and it
never shuts down. Advice?
