Cannot restore to a point in an earlier month. I need to go back to a point
in early January to "try" to fix my CD drive, but the back arrows on the Feb
calendar do not do anything.

I'll get to the CD Drive in another message!!

If the Restore Point is not there you can not use it.
You will need another solution to resolve your issue.
