i have windows xp with outlook express bundled in. i am
unable to open or even save any attachments. the paper
clip is there, but no options are active. please walk
me thru this. thanks

XP has a default protection for attachments. Try Tools>Options...>Security
tab. In the top section (w/ the globe), unmark, "Do not allow attachments
to be saved or opened which potentially could contain a virus." Apply and
OK to close. Just remember that this protection is now gone until
re-enabled.
