I've just bought a new computer and had problems with
Windows XP locating an attached scanner and printer. I
removed both of these from the system and then at every
log-on I got the message windows cannot find
c:\scannerexe16\......

I rang the supplier of the computer and they told me to
reload Windows XP.

This I tried and eventually the process reached....

INSTALLING
Windows setup will complete in approximately 35 minutes.

It has now shown this for over 4 hours! What can I do to
continue, and if I can't continue, how can I switch off?

Also, do I need to wipe the hard drive and try reloading
windows - if I do, how do I do it.

As I have only had the computer a few days I have not yet
used it and therefore having nothing of value on it which
can't be deleted.

Any help would be appreciated.
