install them first then install the card. Probably what is happening is
that the computer is looking for a driver on the XP disk.

the fire notebook card ieee-1394 only come with the card that installs into
the side of my laptop according to my system once i have but it in the side
slot windows xp should recognize. It recognize the new software but states
the software did not install properly because files are missing in windows xp
professional and insert my cd-rom which i do not have. When i troudleshoot it
tells me the drivers for this device is not installed so if the drivers did
not come with the firewire how do i go about getting one or should it already
be installed into my laptop any more suggestions
