Posted by telsave on March 4th, 2008

Hi Hope someone can help please.

I have just tried to use the search function in my Windows XP Pro and
received the following error regardless of selecting Pictures; Documents; All
Files or Computers

Search Companion
Unexpected error
Action could not be completed

Can anyone tell me how I can re-activate the search function please.

Error "Action could not be completed" when you attempt to search for a computer on the network:

Hi Ramesh

Thanks for the reply and help. Although it was not the search for computers
on the network but searching for Files & Folders that created the error,
through your guidance I have been able to find the solution and have altered
the Registry Key accordingly. All is working again.

Your help my friend is warmly appreciated.

regards

Dave
