We have a centralised Document Management System (liveLink).
I have managed to create new 'My Network Places' that link to
various folders within the DMS via URLs created by webDAV, more by
accident than design.
I want to have local copies of selected files from the DMS in 'My
Briefcase' so that I can work with these off-line and synchronise
when I go on-line.
However when I drag and drop files in Widows Explorer from the DMS to
MB they go in as Orphans with no synchronisation details.
The only thing I've seen that may have a bearing is URL vs UNC, but
since I've been able to get the INCLUDETEXT function in Word to work
with the URLs I don't think this should be a problem.
Any ideas?
Also how does MB deal with the situation of me working on a file
off-line in MB at the same time as a colleague works on and saves the
same file on-line. Will my subsequent synchronisation cause his/her
changes to be overwritten, or can/will MB merge the two files? If it
can is this automatic or do I have to invoke it somehow? If so how and
can I make it the default action?
TIA.
Chris.
