Remote connect between computers in home network.
Posted by jazzie - Denmark on January 19th, 2006

Hi, I have 2 computers. One running XP home SP2 and one running XP prof SP2.
I can connect from the XP Home to XP prof computer, but not the other way. In
XP prof system icon you have "remote" to allow other computers to connect,
but this is not available in the XP home version. How and what can I do to
get access between the computers.?

Thanks.

XP Home can not act as a Remote Desktop host only as a client. So what your
seeing is normal. I suggest that you look at UltraVNC as an alternative if
you want to remotely access/control the XP Home machine. You can get the
UltraVNC server, client, XP video driver (for the host/server PC) and
encryption plug-in from...

I suggest you use Beyond Remote, it's very simple and the fastest I've seen.
It can be found at http://www.dataapples.com
