- Remote Desktop Frequently Drops Connections - very strange comms i
- Posted by Philip L Jackson on May 3rd, 2008
Hi
We have an office based Windows 2003 server to which we connect from home
via XP Professional Remote Desktop and this has worked well over a number of
years.
We have moved offices to another area and now, with the same office
hardware, and same remote computers the remote desktop keeps disconnecting.
The screen freezes, goes black and then the connection is re established.
Our ISP assures us that there has been no interuption to the internet
service at our new site and the users at the site have not experianced any
outbound communication difficulties.
Has anyone any advice as to how to go about troubleshooting this
communcations issue?
Thanks in advance

It could be MTU issue. This search result may help.
connection to remote computer was broken caused by network error
If the Remote Desktop screen comes up black and then you receive this
error, you may need test and modify the MTU. These links may help, ...

I am getting the same problem. any idea how to fix this.
I have windows 2003 server with 1and1, from last two days I am having this
problem every 20 seconds connection drop and reconnect automatically.
Looks like 1and1 problem as I have checked from my office as well as home
network and from different machines as well.
Please if some one got any advise, will be helpful as it really causing
delay working on server.
Regards,
